I was looking in the mirror today and my waist is still 28 inches. I think it's all because I have a large bosom and a large ass. I have a large ass and it always just looks like I'm bigger than the rest of the girls. I could lose 20 pounds and I'm still going to have these knockers and I'm going to have this ass, and that's just the way it is.
I meet people who say, "Girl, I watch every match, and I pray for you." I feel that energy and those prayers. Sometimes when I'm down on the court, in the back of my mind, I'm thinking, "They want me to win. Is there anything else I can give?" It encourages me to do better, to fight harder.
Dad thanks for leaning in by helping me become a role model for young girls.
Since I don't look like every other girl, it takes a while to be okay with that. To be different. But different is good.
Think of all the girls who could become top athletes but quit sports because they're afraid of having too many defined muscles and being made fun of or called unattractive.
I like playing Jennifer a lot, I really do. She brings out the best in me.
I'm feeling OK. I'm still not where I want to be at, but I'm definitely feeling better than I was.
I'm definitely picking it up each round, ... I'm definitely playing better than I was even a week ago and two weeks ago. I'm getting better and better.
I'm not used to crying. . . . It's a little difficult. All my life I've had to fight. It's just another fight I'm going to have to learn how to win, that's all. I'm just going to have to keep smiling.
The knee just isn't 100 percent, ... It's hard to be out there when you know that you can't play at your best and could potentially make it worse.
To me it doesn't matter. If they'd closed the roof I would have been okay, but if they kept it open I was fine too.
Ankle's good, but I'm just dealing with some issues with my knee because of my ankle, ... Since it went bad, my ankle, my knee got a little weak. Well, weaker than it has been in the past...I was so angry (during the match), I just wanted to crack every racket. But I didn't do it. That's a plus...I wasn't even moving to any balls. I have tomorrow off so maybe that can help but I'll have to see what my therapist says.
fits my personality. It's young, colorful, funky, cool it's a great fit for me.
There's no better stage than the U.S. Open for me. I definitely love it.
