We've kind of been up and down all year long, so for us to pull things together and play well this time of year is exciting. It would be huge if we could make this next step as a basketball program. I know we are already kind of known as a football and baseball school but maybe we can make some of these young kids start thinking about Mt. Pleasant basketball too.

We haven't played anyone quicker than Rhode along the way. With him in the lineup, there is always a chance that he will come up with a big steal or find some way to kick the ball away.

He's a great player and probably struggled a little bit tonight, but I would also like to think our defense had something to do with it. I've watched him put up some big numbers but our defense was totally focused on stopping him.

I don't think anyone looked at Mt. Pleasant as an easy game. It's been that way all year for us. We lost a couple of tough games that we need to learn how to close out, but I think we proved that we can play with anyone.

We don't light up the score boards very often, so it is important for us to get out early with a lot of energy and really set the tone early. In previous games where we did that, we obviously did much better than we did tonight.
