anybody brought everybody good seem
It wasn't a good day for that kind of stuff. And everybody we brought in couldn't seem to get anybody out.
against beaten cut fastball few freeze half inner seemed strikes
We've beaten him a few times, but he's pitched pretty well against us a few times. He had that little cut fastball with two strikes on the inner half that seemed to freeze up our right-hand hitters. We couldn't get anything going offensively off him.
bother close goes kid might nick pressure puts seems struggles three took
The kid just goes out and plays. He's on a mission, it seems like. He went out the first three times up and took strikes, close pitches. It didn't bother him a lick. I don't think Nick puts any pressure on himself, that I've seen. He might if he struggles up here a little bit, but I've yet to see that.
certainly move ready tickled
It's certainly something that I've wanted for a long time. I'm tickled to death. We're ready to move forward.
ball few hit nice somebody streak
It's been like that this whole streak here. The few opportunities we have where we hit the ball real good, somebody makes a nice play on it.
sit status tight
Everything's status quo. We're just going to sit tight on that and see what happens.
ground knocked knows mask pointing
I was pointing to the ground and I knocked his mask out. That was unintentional and he knows it.
appreciate darn mistake sitting thinking trying
I was sitting there thinking we keep making a mistake here and there. And that's because everyone is trying so darn hard. And I appreciate that.
good happy kid type
Let's just be comfortable and happy that we got a good one out of him. I don't want to put too much expectations on the kid -- but you know he has that type of ability.
afraid
I have a lot to prove. I'm not afraid of that challenge.
hung
We battled all the way to the end. You've got to give them credit. They hung in there.
damage major
Damage control. I thought, 'Holy cow, here we go again.' When he got out of that, I said, 'All right. That's a major step.
deeper five game stuff
You can't keep going five innings. He's got better stuff to go deeper into the game than that.
relax
I told them to relax because they were making me nervous. We can relax. We're good. We'll be OK.
