allowed gotten note somebody
I've never gotten a note (that said) 'Could you make somebody more likable?' ... In fact, it's always the opposite. 'Can you make them more complex?' You're allowed to write anti-heroes.
people plastic transform
Even before I wanted to do something about plastic surgeons, I wanted to do something about the idea of how people transform themselves.
game hard high hopefully opening people picked work
Some people say if you're picked high you're already on the team, but that's not true, ... You have to come here and work hard for it and hopefully on opening night, you get to put on the game sweater.
delicate slasher
I didn't want it to feel like a slasher movie, ... I wanted it to be a little more kabuki and delicate and weird.
book change happens instead maybe plastic says shrink
What this show says is that real change happens internally, that maybe you should book a consultation with a shrink instead of a plastic surgeon.
bigger fill scope voices
This show could become bigger in scope and in its storytelling, ... When things become bigger, you need more voices to fill them out.
blessed dream
We're the blessed ones who get to say we're doing what we dream of doing.
ball driving field gets hard red
It's hard to think you're driving up and down the field every time, getting to the red zone, and you just can't get the ball in. It gets frustrating.
artificial beauty bit comment liked modeled quality sort
It was sort of modeled after 'The Scream' a little bit ... I also liked the Dresden quality of it, that he was making a comment on artificial beauty and the facade,
brutal equally
It was a very brutal scene, so repercussions of that are equally as brutal,
award caught deal gets maybe start stuff win worry
I try not to worry about that stuff too much because you can't get caught up in that award show deal because then you start saying, 'Well, what does win awards? Maybe I should write (like) that' and that gets a little dangerous, ... Maybe the show is a little too controversial.
comedy gets mike serious
It's a Mike Nichols movie, which I thought was very serious and done in a very light, sleight-of-hand way, because I think comedy gets you into the show and makes it accessible,
darker home
Yeah, at home it's all moonbeams and puppy-dog tails, so I guess I do have a darker side - and I like writing about it.
accepted agree episode fairy middle moral television watch
I think we live in a world where the middle is accepted as sometimes the best, and I don't agree with that. When I watch a movie or another television show, I want to feel something . . . I would say that every episode is like a Grimm's fairy tale. It has a moral at the end.
