bounce chasing dream hopefully maybe somewhere stay winning work
I'm chasing a dream of winning a World Series. I've had to bounce around. Hopefully something will work out here, or maybe somewhere else, where I can stay in a place where there's a winning tradition.
double fastball good pitch stay top trying waiting
I was waiting on a good pitch to hit. I was trying to stay out of a double play in that situation. I fouled off some pretty good pitches. I got on top of a fastball and I got it into the gap.
build looking next positive streak
We can't be hypothetical. This streak was what we had been looking for all year. Unfortunately, it was just a little too late, but it's something positive to build on for next year, no question.
good guys tonight
We are good fastball-hitting team, but Arroyo kind of showed us tonight that you are going to have to make adjustments a lot of times because guys are not going to give in with the fastball.
believe couple hits mounting next swing tomorrow
We are going to swing the bats. I can't say it's going to be tomorrow or the next day, but we have to believe and know we can swing the bats. These kind of things kind of take their time, take their course. We are a couple of hits away from mounting a rally.
eventually far found home lesson louis playing prepared ready relax splitting time year
I'm going to be prepared every day. St. Louis was my big lesson as far as experiencing splitting time with Ozzie. I found out that I couldn't go home and relax and say, 'I'm not playing tomorrow.' I had to eventually prepare myself to be ready to play. And this year is no different. I'm prepared to play every day.
nice
It's nice but a little frustrating at the same time. It kind of got too late,
forward hair looking start
It's a new start for me. The hair had nothing to do with it, but I'm looking forward to the future.
ballgame close heading heads hits hung last loss momentum positive san translate won
It kind of exemplifies what we hadn't been getting in this stretch. You just want to take some positive momentum into San Diego. We could've hung our heads after the first loss the first night, but we didn't, won a close ballgame last night, got some big hits tonight. All those things translate into some momentum heading into San Diego.
balls elevated few obviously pitching square throwing unable zone
Early, he was topping out about 84 (mph), throwing BP fastballs. Obviously you can't keep pitching down in the zone at 85, so he elevated a few balls and we were unable to square them up.
both good hat heck job mixing pitches sides tip twenty using
We only had about twenty pitches of video. That didn't tell us a heck of a lot. He did a good job of mixing his pitches, using both sides of the plate. He's got a pretty live fastball, too, so you just have to tip your hat to him.
advantage left position quite runs scoring
We left runs in scoring position quite a bit. We had our opportunities and just didn't take advantage of them.
advantage good hat left pitcher position quite runners scoring tip
We left runners in scoring position quite a bit. Sometimes you've got to tip your hat to the pitcher doing a good job, but we had our opportunities and we just didn't take advantage of it.
aches approach ask changed good legs worked
My approach hasn't changed in 15 years. It's not about to change now. I'm healthy. That is the most important thing. I feel good out on the field. My legs are under me. I worked out all my aches and pains. Actually, I couldn't ask for a better spring.
