cheering goals guys joe position power provided richard scoring title trying win
The right guys are scoring for us. I'm cheering for Joe to win the scoring title and for Cheech to win the goals title, the Richard Trophy. Provided it doesn't take away from what we're trying to do to win, I'll do everything in my power to put them in the position to succeed.
excited fault minutes needs patty playing point power
I wanted to get Patty a little more involved. I think he got excited to see he'd be on the point on the power play. He needs to be playing around 20 minutes a game. It was my fault he didn't play more the other night.
bear casual power second
We had too many casual moments. As we were getting power plays, especially in the second period, we just didn't bear down. It was sloppy. It was just like we were on our own plan.
poor power took
We made a poor play on the power play and they took advantage. We could have quit, but we didn't.
focused manages penalties penalty playing power sure takes team
We've got to make sure we're focused and on-board with our penalty kill because we're playing a team right now that takes a lot of penalties and manages to get a lot of power plays.
dangerous five goals picked plays power since teams threaten tonight
Tonight was kind of an anomaly. You're not going to threaten teams with five power play goals. Since we picked up Joe, though, we've had one of the most dangerous power plays in the league.
dangerous happened joe picked plays power since time
That is the first time its ever happened for this franchise. Since we picked up Joe (Thornton), we've had one of the most dangerous power plays in the league.
avoid clicking found job ourselves power start talked tonight
We didn't want to start with a 2-0 hole, and we talked about how to avoid that, but we found ourselves in that position. Fortunately, our power play was clicking tonight and got the job done.
five game potent power score six stay
We've got, I think, a very potent power play. All indications are it (the calls) should stay the same -- and we'll get five or six opportunities a game and we're going to have to score at least one.
bit discipline expect hard kept lost period power teams third whenever
Whenever we play L.A., we look at their stats and they're one of the most penalized teams in the league. They play hard all the time, right on the edge. So you've got to expect to get power plays. We lost a little bit of our discipline in the third period and had to kill some too, but in the first two periods, we kept on task.
period power third
The one that killed us was in the third period -- 3-2 game, we get a power play and I don't know if we even got a shot. If we did it was a bad-angle shot. That could have made a difference.
excited force great patty played point power puck saw taking
Patty played a great game. He was taking the puck to the net, and he was a force. I think he got excited when he saw he was going to be on the point on the power play.
advantage chance draw energy good penalties period power pushed talked third
In the third period of back-to-back games, I don't know if they really had the energy to take advantage of the power play. We talked about if we pushed the pace, there's a good chance we'll draw penalties tonight.
great happy phoenix power special spent
I'm happy we spent all day (Tuesday) working on our power play. They've got great special teams. Fortunately, we had those opportunities, because we didn't look much better than we did in Phoenix to be honest.
