We identify the players we have to do something about and then figure how we're going to do it. If it turns out to be what we did in New England, it will be because it gives us the best chance with who we have.

best cause frame great guys mind performance player role rumors shooting start thinking time waste
It's rumors like that which cause guys to start thinking about what their role is. I shouldn't have to waste time shooting down these rumors, but I do it to keep my player in a great frame of mind so he can give his best performance on the field.
began break causes directed eliminate fights game guys ill last looked nfl player respect talk towards year
They (NFL officials) told us the same thing last year about taunting, ... As guys began to talk more to the opponent, that's where you can get altercations or fights break out. That respect thing happens. The NFL looked at it and said, 'Okay, if we can eliminate some of this one-on-one thing that's going on that causes ill will, then the game will be a better game.' Anything that's directed towards an opposing player is going to be called. There is no excuse.

He did a lot for this city, this team, and the NFL, period. We have a mural on the wall when our players come in the door, and there is Paul Brown kneeling on the sideline. We realize he's a major part of the history of this team, and we don't want to forget that.
allow chance changed four help men nfl players realized recover serve suspension weeks year
That changed that this year to allow the men an opportunity. If he couldn't be around at all then why keep him on the team? I think the NFL realized that and wanted to help the players recover to give them a chance on the team. He'll serve his suspension and we'll look at it in four weeks to see if we need to keep him or want to keep him.

I know that he wasn't perfect because he screwed some things up, but I think he's showed us enough that we feel like he can grow and develop to be a return man in the NFL. We feel good about his abilities and potential.
