kings drs remember
You know, it's hard to say this, but I suspect that Obama is afraid either of blackmail potential or even worse. And he has referred to the killing of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in this main saying, "don't you remember what happened to Dr. King?"
people straight
People can and do come to us for the straight answers.
agency engaged however wish
I do not wish to be associated, however remotely, with an agency engaged in torture.
few government people stop
Pete Hoekstra was one of the few people in our government who would be able to stop this.
circle matter move requires
We all move in our circle of friends and neighbors. ... One must never try to do something like this alone. It requires a community, no matter how small.
addicted bizarre blessing criteria curse learned misses needed oil president quite reached says school war
The president says we are addicted to oil. He's quite right. We've reached the first resource-war. It's bizarre to think that this war had nothing to do with oil. The war misses the criteria that I learned in school that is needed for a just war... Oil is a blessing and a curse for Iraq.
common dead expected eyes looking man people reaction simply walking worst
It was simply a slow, dead man walking kind of thing. I had expected turbulence, the worst I experienced was people averting their eyes and the most common reaction was people looking at me, silence.
constitution defend matter oath principle promise reveal secrets united
This is a matter of principle where she said my oath, my promise not to reveal secrets is superseded by my oath to defend the constitution of the United States.
drive truck
That's a loophole you can drive a Mack truck through.
mind way certain
You do what you know is good, because it's good, and then you have a certain peace of mind, saying, you've been an activist in a constructive way.
country views interrogation-techniques
Well, the role of our "allies," in my view, is a scandal. 53 other countries cooperated in the kidnapping, "extraordinary rendition," of suspected terrorists to black sites where they were administered enhanced interrogation techniques, which by the way is a direct, literal translation of "verschärfte Vernehmung" right out of the Gestapo manual.
war technique allies
I have the manual, and the sad thing is that many of the techniques are exactly the same ones with a few enhancements by the US since World War II. So the role of our European allies and others has just really disappointed me greatly.
nsa president directors
I would have never thought that I would hear myself saying that the president of the United States is afraid of the CIA. But he is. He's afraid of the NSA as well. How else to explain that the National Intelligence director, who lied under oath to his senate overseers on the 12th of March 2013, is still the director of National Intelligence?
government use answers
I would answer with the words of the Stasi alumnus Wolfgang Schmidt, who was asked that question: "What about these Americans who say, I have nothing to hide?" And he said, and I quote: "This is very naïve. This is the reason that the government collects the information in the first place to use against you. The only way to prevent that is to prevent the information from being collected in the first place." End quote.
