We were somewhat taken aback. Normally, what we see after a very busy holiday travel season is demand dropping off. Unfortunately, this year, we're seeing just the opposite.

In years past, we usually did not see much of a change in the pattern of people taking trips. But we're kind of in uncharted territory dealing with high crude oil prices and seeing gas over the $2 mark - this is all new. Overall, I think people will still take those vacations. We recommend keeping your cars well maintained, checking air pressure in your tires and combining errands into one trip to save gas. If everyone did that, the conservation efforts would make a huge difference on the price factor.

I think gas at $3 a gallon and up is going to be the rule here, as we get into the Labor Day weekend.
