It felt good to be out there, considering the relationship me and some of those guys have. We just had some little miscommunication, but that's something we can work on and we can get better at.

I wouldn't say that was the turning point in the game. Riley had to make a lot of good saves in the game. If I had to describe our effort (Saturday) I would say it was less than inspiring. We didn't play well but I can't complain too much, we're up a game.

When you're at the top you're the team everybody gets up for. We had a team beat us the other night and you would have thought they won the Stanley Cup by the way they were yelling and whooping down the hall. The good thing is, that gives our guys the extra incentive to win. They don't like to hear that.

We had been walked off the last two days, so it was good that we stretched the game to extra innings and pulled it out. It was a good win for us, especially starting a new month and being back at home. Definitely the kind of game that can get you started in the right direction.

We got on the board early. Span turning on that pitch, that was nice. Situational hitting wasn't very good today. We had chances to blow the game open early. We push a couple across we're in better shape. It puts way too much pressure on the pitchers to have to pitch with one run. So we'll work on our situational hitting.

You want a guy like that on your staff, a guy who's unselfish. He roots for his pitchers to get the job done. He wants them to do well when he catches. That's what a good catcher does. The offense is just a bonus. His value to a team is his ability to catch and call a game.

We've been spending most of our time so far just working on technique. A lot of the athletes just need help with the basics. We've been working on the proper stroke and our endurance and that's pretty much what we do consistently.
