certainly chris confident determined good last playing results saw wants
I think Chris is a very confident player. I wouldn't say he's more confident (than last year), but he's more determined than ever that he wants more playing time. We certainly saw good results today.
changed confident determined last playing wants
I don't think he's much changed from last year. He's a very confident player. I just think he's more determined now because he wants more playing time.
everybody good playing plays respect somebody spring stays training until wait
Obviously, when you have depth, it's good in one respect for the team, but it's difficult, because if everybody stays healthy, somebody doesn't get much playing time. We'll have to wait until we get to spring training to see how that plays out.
came chicago dropping playing quite team tough trouble
We came in here after dropping two (of three) in Chicago and playing a team that's been tough on us, a team that we've had trouble with here, ... We responded quite well.
almost game last playing since
It's almost like we've been playing the last game we're ever going to play since mid-May,
caught chavez difficult might playing playoff staff
It might be a little more difficult to get (Quintero) a whole lot of playing time, ... Chavez has had playoff experience, and he's caught our whole staff more than Quintero.
playing younger
That's not bad. For a younger kid, I would usually have them in the 30s right now and they would end up with 55 at-bats or so. I could end up getting him there playing him more than I really want to, but he's getting there.
ended good great grew hurry kids last matter playing starting stepped team truth year
There were a whole lot of things last year that made me nervous. Starting off last season, I did not think we had a good enough team to get to the playoffs, and the truth of the matter is the kids all stepped up and grew up in a hurry and we ended up playing great ball.
ball control good playing
I think we want to take it down to the wire. That's the way we've been playing it, so that's what we're going to do. We've just got to buckle down and play good ball now. We're still in control of our destiny.
good hitting pitching playing
I just feel if we go to 15 over we'll be in pretty good position. We're playing confidently now. At least we're pitching confidently. I don't know if we're hitting as confidently as I'd like.
balls bit consistent couple gave hitting period played playing solid year
His consistent play, his consistent hitting all year long -- and he's played pretty solid defense. He had a period in there where a couple of balls gave him a little bit of trouble, but he's been playing a pretty solid defense.
behind bike couple given looked pick plate playing position pro ride smooth
It's not been a position he's been playing a lot in pro ball, so I wouldn't say it's a given that you pick it right back up, but once you get on a bike you still know how to ride it, I would think. He's looked pretty smooth the couple of times he's been behind the plate for me.
days debated good playing time today
I debated about playing him today because he had two days off. He'll hit, but it's a good time to have a day. He'll get going with the bat here soon, and I'll want to play him every day.
against ball bat care decent few good job pitches swinging team threw
We just had a lot of Dontrelle Willis tonight, more than I'd care to see, ... Brandon (Backe) threw the ball well. He had a lot of good pitches and only a few mistakes. That was a decent job against a team that is really swinging the bat well.
