Where it is right now, in spite of everybody saying 'Oh, I love the new game,' I don't love the new game,
We thought about switching every day and creating new lines but then we decided not to, ... The whole idea here was the introduction of some concepts of play. Rather then have them worrying about adjusting to new guys every day, we wanted them to concentrate and focus on trying to absorb the system we want to play.
You can't draw that up on a chalk board. We have to compete better.
We don't want to get into a spot with Steve where we're going to cost him an opportunity someplace. But he is still determined that he is going to play on this hockey club. We're open to that too. It has a lot to do with the respect we have for him as a player and an individual.
I don't know Eddie that well, but he has a great work ethic and that's why he's been in the game as long as he has.
One of the silly ones, in my opinion, is the automatic (penalty) for flipping the puck inadvertently up in the stands. We all know, and so do the officials, when it's intentional, so call the intentional ones.
The eyeball itself is fine. There's damage to the surrounding areas, but they weren't able to report if there is serious damage. I don't know what the time frame is for him to play again. I would bet there is significant swelling.
I think we're going to have a lot of different looks,
I was proud of how our guys bounced back. It would be easy to accept what was going on. We were up earlier in the game as well and gave it up. We'll just have to find a way to play better.
I was proud of how our guys bounced back,
I think they are pushing each other right now and it has helped them. I don't know if I'll play them together when the season starts, but right now in the exhibition games, they've been getting better and better.
Mats was our great leader, Tie played with so much heart, and Tomas has developed into an outstanding all-around player.
He's gone home to deal with some family matters,
He did fan on the one, there's no question about that. But he didn't have much of a team in front of him.
