good higher power throw trying
They have some good power hitters. I was just trying not to throw in the middle, keep it higher or lower.
pitch pressure
That's when you put too much pressure on yourself. And if you do that, you don't pitch well. I'm not going to think so much about it and just play baseball. That's what I'll tell those guys, too.
both coming together
They are coming together and they both said, 'I got it.' I could do nothing.
arm came feels hurt last shoulder team trying year
But I feel great. My arm feels strong. I'm trying to think only about making the team and being right for the season. Last year when I came here I hurt my shoulder because my arm wasn't stronger.
focus happened last mind next thinking trying
But I'm trying not to think about it too much -- that's what happened last year. I was thinking too much. My mind was lost. I'm trying to focus now on the next game.
good next prepared spring training year
Every year is a different year, ... This has been a disappointing year. I have to come to spring training next year prepared to have a good year.
carpenter deep good help hold trying
I know Carpenter is a good pitcher. I was trying to go deep into the game, hold them and try to help the team.
anybody throw
I had a no-hitter, that is why I was so surprised. I want to show what I can do. There's no way I would ever throw at anybody intentionally.
bigger catch last pitching playing running
I'm bigger and stronger. Last year, I was just playing catch and running a little bit. This winter, I started pitching in December.
against game guy last maybe roger seeing thinking tough winning
He's such a tough guy in pitching. We're not thinking about winning against Roger Clemens, we were thinking about just seeing him, that it's maybe the last game - and that we won.
felt good problems throwing understand
I felt really good and I don't understand all the walks. I felt like I was throwing as well as I have all year, but I had problems throwing strikes.
bit happy knew surprised
I'm happy for that opportunity, and I'm going to try to do my best, obviously. I was a little bit surprised. Not surprised because you want to be on the team, and I knew I was. But I thought there were other guys.
came number special wore
He's always used that number. He came to me and asked, and I said, 'Yeah.' The number is not special to me. Fifty-nine is the number I first wore in the big leagues, so it was no problem.
fastball thinking
The fastball is coming, but I'm not thinking about the fastball right now. I'm thinking about the game, and the fastball is going to come.
