certain coming ready seven sitting straight takes
Lehr was up seven straight times, ready to come in (for certain situations). Getting up and sitting back down takes more out of you than coming in games. You can't keep doing that.
bit situation six
To get six outs like that in that situation was every bit as big as anything else that happened.
base baseball complexion guys hit home seemed sitting team traded trying work
When we traded Richie, the whole complexion of the team changed. We always seemed to be sitting back and trying to hit the home run. Now we've got guys in the lineup who work the counts, get on base and manufacture runs. That's the kind of baseball we want to play here.
exactly reason saving situations throw
The reason we don't use him is because we're not going to just throw him out there. This is exactly the reason he is here. We're saving him for situations like that.
either guys helps makeup situation terms tough
It's a tough situation (for Fernandez), but sometimes you just have to go through it. It was a tough situation for Mike, too, because he pitched well enough to make our team. Either one of those guys could have made the team. It's just that Jared has a little more flexibility in terms of what he can do for us. It helps the makeup of our staff.
hoping nine sitting win wins
It was a win for Davis. We were hoping it'd be for Doug Davis, as well as Doug's pitched. Doug's been sitting on nine wins for a long time.
score situation
We had battled back for him and got him in a situation where the score was tied,
explore options sit
We'll sit down and explore all our options (today).
bench confusion count five four home sit
You don't really sit there and count them down. There was some confusion on the bench if there were four or five home runs.
exactly fill reason saving situations throw
This is exactly why he's here. He can fill that role. And the reason we don't use him (more) is we're just not going to throw him out there. We're saving him for situations like that.
hitter lately noticed seventh sit throughout winning
He's going to be a 3, 4, 5 hitter throughout his career. He's not going to sit in the seventh spot. And I don't know if you've noticed lately but we haven't been winning too many games, so something's broke.
guy situation
He's doing everything right now. I don't think there's a guy I'd more want to see up there in that situation than Carlos.
beat game good hard mistakes phase sit talent wait win
Not only are they so good talent-wise, they're so good in every phase of the game. You come in here and play them, you know they're not going to beat themselves. They're going to play the game hard and they're going to play the game right. If you sit back and wait for them to make mistakes so you can win a game, you're going to be in trouble.
bat guy situation swinging
I don't think there is a guy I would more want to see up there in that situation than Carlos because he's been swinging the bat so well.
