I think that I have to take a lot of the blame for the slow start we had. We could have been more prepared for the press.

It would've been great to have a league championship. It would've been fantastic, but hopefully now we will be playing later on in the season for something a little bit bigger and better.

We did a great job defensively. I don't think there's any secret in Central Mass. about the type of defense we play.

I think it will definitely help us to prepare for the district tournament. It's a little strange not knowing what team you're going to play until about a week before the games start, so that takes a little time out of preparing.

It's no secret that we have a lot of big girls and we look to use them. Groton did a good job on the perimeter early on, making it tough for us to get it inside to them, but once we moved the ball a little better we were able to get the ball into Jillian and Allie (Coulter) and we were able to capitalize.

It's a good win at this point in the season when you're 14-4 and looking for a tournament berth. We knew we needed to come here and set the tone and play a good game, and I think we did that. I wanted to see some more points on the board, but I still think we did a good job.

We played well in the first half and then let up in the second half. We need to learn how to play an entire game. Early in the season we try to play the game well and limit our mistakes.

We definitely do things offensively to utilize our size. It's one thing to have the height, but when you have big people who can play, that makes it tough for a team to stop you.

During the interview process, Pete told me that the team had three girls six feet or taller, and a point guard (Kim Rich). That definitely piqued my interest, but it also made me wonder how a team with all those ingredients could be around .500.

G-D's a great team. They did the same thing to us when we played them at their place. They came out with super intensity, got on top early, looking to do it on the defensive end.

I could see from the beginning of our practices earlier this year that the potential was there. I knew that the pieces were in place, and I think the team just needed a change and needed some discipline.

I know we wanted it, but we just didn't come out and do the things we needed to do. We gave up a bunch of big offensive boards, there were things we didn't do that we wish we could take back. They (Marlboro) threw a press at us a couple times that tripped us up.
