book artist talking
I've been very lucky with the people I've met over the years. Way back in the early '70s I went to [Phil] Seuling's conventions for something like three years in a row from '70 to '72 and I remember at the '72 luncheon with the Academy of Comic Book Artists and talking with John Romita about the kind of brushes he used. Pros ask pros the same questions that fans do. "What kind of pens do you use? What kind of brushes do you use?" I was so amazed that the wonderful work John Romita was doing was accomplished with a Windsor-Newton series 7 Number 4. Not a 2 or a 3, but a 4.
artist people sitting
I know some stories about "liberation" and stuff that's been liberated by people who turn around and get on their soapbox about how it's unfair that the artists didn't benefit while they're sitting on stuff that they "liberated," but that's another story for another time.
new-york artist years
I sometimes look at the careers of other... I guess I could call them contemporaries or maybe close artists; you know, the 4 or 5 guys who go to New York City and get a loft and work together and use each other as models and that sort of thing and wait for years and years to get married. Maybe I just wasn't that definite.
felt free held hit missed opportunity three tie tough
We felt comfortable with the game, then (Bailey) hit a three to get it back to three, and we missed our free throws. They had an opportunity to tie it, but we held on in a tough place to play.
ball great job nice sharing shot
Priscilla shot the ball very well. We also did a great job on offense, especially sharing the ball. It's nice to see, really.
bend game teams
Bend and Pendleton are still the teams to beat. We just need to take it a game at a time.
free handle missed throws win
We just couldn't get anything going offensively. We had opportunities to win the game, but we missed free throws and we didn't handle the pressure. It was a frustrating night.
against crook knew played sloppy today
We were sloppy (against Crook County), and we knew we had to play better today against Bend. Defensively, we really played very well today.
anyone beat close fewer games including league overlook played three won
We can't overlook anyone. Redmond is 2-6 in league, but they've played a lot of close games, including being up 14 on us in the first quarter. We've won three league games by three or fewer points. We know anyone can beat anyone in the conference.
anyone expected girls lose terrific tough
It's always tough (to lose at this stage). But these girls have done more than anyone expected them to. It's been a terrific season.
conference girls locker race start talked win
We've talked about it in the locker room. It would be nice, but the girls know the race is to 10 (wins) and then we start working our way up (in conference seeding) with every win after that.
bend business care crook floor game home nice overlook
We know from the Redmond game that we can't overlook any team. It's nice to play Bend after Pendleton does, but we need to take care of business on our home floor (against Crook County).
force girls needed played rushed tried
We started slow, like we usually do, but we rushed things, and tried to force them when we needed to be more patient. The girls played hard, it just didn't happen.
game good hitting job nice struggled
We struggled on offense, but we did a good job hitting our free-throws. It's really nice to see it; this was a big game for us.
