both chance gave great hate job
I hate to use those two matchup guys, Sherrill and Putz, that early. They both did a great job and gave us a chance to do what we did later.
ball base coming everybody guys jobs putting scoring supposed
Everyone is doing what they're supposed to do. Guys around our big guys are getting on base and into scoring position, and our big guys are putting the ball in play and coming through. Everybody is doing their jobs offensively.
guy job looking offense
We're looking for a guy who can do the job defensively, first of all. Offense would be a plus.
beyond carries eyes feet job tender watch
You watch the way he carries himself. It's not arrogantly, it's confidently. You'd think he's old beyond his years, then you look at his eyes and think, 'This guy's a pup.' He's still a tender guy. Our job is to keep his feet on the ground.

caught glad hit sure
We weren't sure if he caught it just before he hit or as he hit. After he hit the ground, we were glad to see him get back up.
hold might throw
We might hold him back and just have him throw on the side. But we're not there yet.
ball hit last
We hit the ball pretty decently today, but right at people. Just like last night.
hours medical people recover slept
We think he slept on it wrong, and sometimes that can take hours to recover from. At least that's what our medical people told me. Anyway, he's fine.
ball calls difficult hard learn pitches pleased receives worked
I've been very, very pleased with how he receives the ball and how he calls a game, the pitches he's called. It's difficult to learn the pitchers, but he's worked hard at it.
absolutely anybody expected forward starts thrown watching
The way he's thrown and the starts that he's had have been absolutely outstanding. He has been better than we really expected him to be. Like anybody else, when he's on the mound, I look forward to watching him pitch.
eddie pitches spring threw
Eddie threw more pitches in that inning than he did all spring training.
couple rest second settled struggling throwing trouble
Felix, the first couple of innings, was struggling with his mechanics. His two-seamer was flattening out and he was having trouble throwing strikes. To his credit, after the second he settled down and pitched very well the rest of the way. Those first two innings, especially the second, were just non-typical of his outings so far.
expect griffin rick
Realistically, probably not. (Trainer) Rick Griffin is working with him, and he doesn't expect it to be anything good.
