I kind of knew that hit was coming because I'd hit him earlier that shift. I looked up and saw him coming and I knew he was going to try to take my head off. I tried to jump out of the way.

We had six kids start and pitch well during the trip. Trevor (Powers) and Ricky (Leclerc) pitched very well and we received two quality starts from Will (Waldrop). Erik (Morrison) picked up a win, Mark Bulger was impressive and Patrick (Driscoll), despite being the victim of the defense against Western Connecticut, was very effective.

The team played outstanding on our trip. Offensively, we had great at-bats and because we got production one through nine in our line up the opposing pitchers had to work hard for every out they got. The pitchers were aggressive and controlled the strike zone.

Everyone wants to make the playoffs. A game like this is frustrating, but we've got to put it behind us.

We watched films and knew we would have some success with the running plays that we used in the past against them, ... I think overall this is the best team we've played so far. We're in the same position we were in last year. We need to win the last six. Me being a senior, I want to be able to say they we went 7-3. We've all grown up playing together and it's almost a family attitude more than friendships. The seniors won't give up and it's up to the underclassmen to follow.

It was a big welcome back for the whole team. It was a big start to get everyone excited.

It was difficult to play in these conditions. You only have four league weekends that count toward the tournament so they're all big and this one is certainly a big one coming up for us.

We have high goals this year. We want to do better than that. Everybody knows what we can achieve and we're working that much harder.

As usual, Tufts and Trinity will be tough and Bates and Colby are our rivals which makes them always tough to play against. However, I feel our goals are realistic if we do the little things like play good defense and get quality pitching.
