China is exciting because it is an extremely curious and interested market. What more can a designer ask for? The client here is bold and willing to try new things, which a country with a long fashion history wouldn't dare. France or England is weighed down by all these rules, elaborate etiquette, do's and don'ts. Things here move incredibly quickly.
I love fashion because it's plugged into the zeitgeist, so it's always changing. Thirty years ago, I could never have predicted I'd be where I am today, so I know I don't know what's going to happen in the next five years or the next 20 years. I have my predictions—I'm sure technology will continue to have an impact on fashion, particularly the way people shop. I think quality will be increasingly important—we're moving away from a time of fast fashion. But really, the only constant in fashion is that you must keep moving forward, otherwise you'll be left behind.

right before the final runway show taped for (her Bravo style series) Project Runway , and I loved having a quiet minute with Michael.
Lots of shine for evening, ... lots of ornamentation (with) a lot of Art Deco-sort-of-feeling to it because, again, I think this collection really is New York. So, automatically to me, it's the Chrysler Building.
She's like, 'I'll do the thigh-high boots pregnant.' She wears the same kind of stuff she did before. I think women are sexier when they're pregnant, so why not go for it?
What are we going to do, sue our biggest customers?
the optimism of an endless horizon and blue skies ahead.
We had a very tough time with this, and if you're looking for a job, definitely give me a call, I'd love to hear from you.
The '90s will be looked back on as ushering in an era of comfort.
I wear the same thing every day. I always pack two black jackets, loads of black T-shirts, loads of white jeans. I feel a little fresh and glamorous and graphic.
