addition arm erratic good great saw throwing time today
I saw him today for the first time throwing BP. He's got great arm strength. He was a little erratic today command-wise. Obviously, he's got good stuff. I think he's going to be a great addition for them.
game guy keeping spoke throwing
I just spoke to Moose, ... He's been doing his throwing out there, keeping tabs on what's going on. If there's a Game 5, he's the guy I'd want to be on the mound.
battle best far good job joe special toughest year
I've been here with Joe for 10 years and this has by far been the toughest year for him, and it's the best job he's done. He's done a good job year in and year out -- this year the job he's done was really special because he had a lot of things to battle through.
far joe toughest year
I've been here with Joe for 10 years and this has been by far the toughest year for him,
everybody groups needs satisfy separate
Sometimes you have to satisfy two separate groups of people, and it shouldn't be that way. It should be you should just have to satisfy one group. Something needs to be done to have everybody always on the same page.
ball breaking deep dug game heck reached
Cupps was outstanding tonight, ... He got better each inning, his breaking ball got better. He reached down, dug deep and pitched a heck of game for us.
guys perfect spend time
Most guys probably give up before they spend enough time to perfect their skills.
against hard tries
I think, maybe, at times, he tries a little too hard against them.
certainly extra fill groups satisfy separate
I would certainly fill them in with a lot of the extra stuff, ... Sometimes you have to satisfy two separate groups of people. It shouldn't be that way.
basically bit felt interfere thinking
I didn't let it interfere with the way I did my job, ... I felt it (wore) a little bit on my thinking on the field. Basically that's why I made the decision.
almost assume bad bothered close control fired higher lost nerve obviously seen words
Nobody's ever had the nerve to say to me, 'You stink' or you had a bad year. ... But I've seen it in the papers. Not in those words ... but that obviously comes from higher up. That's out of my control and that hasn't bothered me, but unfortunately it bothered, uh, I still (think) it's (why) we lost Zimmer. After all, I almost got fired in the midseason. I don't know (how close it was). I only know what was said and (written), but I would assume it was probably pretty close.
hopefully
We're not out of this thing. We're hopefully going to go get two from Billings and see what happens,
bottom chance rotation
The bottom end of our rotation has a chance to be tremendous.
good left needed truth
It may have sounded like I left mad, but that wasn't the truth. I left with a good feeling. I think I said what I thought I needed to say upon leaving, and that was it. It had no carryover, no displeasures at anybody.
