died help improve talk
We don't talk about the adversity. We talk about the things that will help us improve and win. It's going to happen. And if it doesn't, we died trying.
biggest blend challenge coaching guys returning talked trying
As a coaching staff, we've talked about trying to blend in the new guys with our returning guys. That will be our biggest challenge during the preseason.
challenges coaching fight guys mammoth mentally personal position ready talk win winning
I don't talk about winning and losing, even if we're the mammoth favorite. I talk about what we have to do to get us in position to win and what we have to do to win. You have to get guys mentally ready and take on personal challenges as a team. We're going to fight them. That's what you have to do as a coaching staff, get them out there to fight them.
basketball care job pleased strong taking
We have to do a better job of taking care of the basketball and being strong with it. But I was pleased with our effort, and we are improving.
double draw dribble kick minutes open single team trying wish
We wish (Ware played) 30 or 35 minutes (instead of 21) because we were trying to go through him every single possession. To draw that double team and kick it out and get some open shots, or to dribble through the double team and try to score.
chance changed front game jersey name players playing seed won
Even if we won this game it would not have changed our seed in the tournament. Right now were playing for the name on the front of our jersey and playing for pride. We are now getting some young players the chance to get some experience.
besides bodies court four good minutes played talent
Besides the four minutes at the end of the first half, we played pretty good especially with the talent that was out on the court and the kind of bodies they have.
guys maximize respect
(Doyle's) got that old man's game. He's effective. I have respect for guys like that who maximize their ability.
bad basketball five four guys hard last shooting struggled worked
We really struggled shooting the basketball in the last four or five games, which is too bad because I think these guys worked hard to improve.
biggest bounce fighting guys kept plugging tough
That was my biggest concern. It's tough for our guys to bounce back, you know, it's that 'here we go again.' But we kept fighting and kept plugging away.
both ends force game himself played white within
I thought Marcus White played within himself on both ends of the court. I think that it's very important for him just to let the game come to him, not force things.
ability ended season though today vote
If the season ended today I'd vote for him. He's been very consistent. He has the ability to play well even though they don't have another low-post presence.
bit gave great hard looked missed shots transition
I was going to try to play him a little bit to see how he looked out there. It's just hard in transition for him. ... He gave a great effort. He missed some shots but he was aggressive.
both consistency fed guys rivalry success
You had two guys who were fixtures at their universities. They're kind of institutions in their own right. The success of both of those guys and what they accomplished but also their teams' success, and that consistency fed into the rivalry also.
