I've been a fan of Meredith for a long time.
Don't get me wrong, I think you're probably telling the truth, but there might be a lot of people at home wondering how that could be possible with the conditions you're facing and with the insurgent attacks you're facing.
Meredith is a real pro, and I think it speaks volumes that NBC has brought her here to 'Today. I have been her fan for years and I can't wait to be her partner. She has the perfect background and personality to make a real mark on this show and in morning news in general. I'm thrilled to welcome her aboard.

From time to time, the show has moved in a certain direction -- softer or harder. But obviously we hope that world events dictate the direction we go in.

We fine broadcasters for using four-letter words, we say that's offensive. So is it offensive to call for the assassination of a world leader?
It's possible. I think that's possible. . . . I think people are not looking at her accomplishments.
Does it worry you, ... seem to have such an interest in Mr. Rove?
It's hard to imagine being here and not having you sitting next to us.
Times are harder there right now. I think it's been well publicized. We are - the show is not where I want it to be right now. The ratings are not where I want them to be. I want to make it better.
I think you're going to see slow changes, not dramatic changes. We're going to make sure that the show and Meredith are in their comfort zones.
