change coming goal momentum next pride season teams winning year
Our goal for this season was to make the playoffs, but if that's not going to happen, then having a winning season would at least be some consolation. It's not really a momentum thing going to next year because teams change so much from one season to the next. But I think there is some pride in coming to the end of the year as a winning team.
compared count game highs last team year
What I like about this year compared to last year is that I really haven't had a lot of fluctuation from big highs to big lows, ... When you do that, your team can count on you pretty much every game to make a contribution.
college years league
I went to college for a reason, and that was to skip the minor leagues. I spent a year in the minors and got my at-bats in, and then I felt like I was ready for the big leagues.
college years best-year
College was a blast. My three years of college were the best years of my life.
crazy hate years
Agents are probably going to hate me for saying it... You're not very valuable when you're making $20 million. When you're Mike Trout, making the minimum, you are crazy valuable. My first six years, before I was a free agent, I was very valuable. But there's nothing you can do that can justify a $20 million contract.
hitters less noticed offense pitching pressure shown staff throwing time
I've noticed we've been going after hitters a lot more this year, and throwing more strikes, and it's shown in our success. It's been nice. Any time the pitching staff is doing that better and more consistently, there's a lot less pressure on the offense going in.
last none ranger unhappy
I've never been more unhappy as a Ranger than the last two weeks. Nothing's going right. A lot of things are going on, and none of them are positive.
case people time
We are still young, but at the same time we are experienced. Most people think of young as being inexperienced, and that's not the case here.
ball hardest hit
That was the hardest ball ever hit to me down at first base.
answer bend coming ear happy knows leaning roger weeks
I think Roger Clemens knows what he wants. If he's got any questions, we'll be happy to answer them. Hopefully, he's leaning this way ... but I'm not going to go over there and bend his ear for 2 1/2 weeks about coming to play for us.
goals individual mean team unless watching
It doesn't mean that much unless the team wins, ... Individual goals are great, but when I'm watching the playoffs, it won't mean that much.
beat blocked came catcher either late piece plate run saw slide small
I thought I was safe. As I came in, I saw a small piece of the plate and I slid to it. If a catcher has the plate blocked off, I'm either going to slide around him or run him over. But I saw a small piece of the late and slid to it and beat it by two steps.
baseball might miss playing team work
I'm still going to be playing baseball, still getting my work in. The team might miss me a little bit, but at the same time, when we get back, it will be like we've never left.
baseball credit defect either flaw hard hit maybe
Maybe that's it. Either that or there was a flaw or defect in the baseball. I hit it hard but ... I don't know if I could take credit for that.
