ball board couple focus fortunate pitchers putting runs settle today
We just wanted to focus on putting the ball in play today and see what happened. We got some fortunate bounces, but we put a couple runs on the board (early) and let our pitchers kind of settle in.

Their pitcher did a great job. He kept the ball down, moved it in and out and generally kept us off-balance. And we didn't do a very good job attacking the ball today at all.

We just got beat by a better team today. We couldn't overcome a lot of two-run spurts.
aggressive approach plate second strikes time took
The second time through they had a much better approach and were aggressive at the plate and drilled the ball. We just took too many strikes today. That's not the approach that we want or need to take.

The second inning was better than his first. He had some nice pop, but when you can't get your second and third pitch over (the plate), teams are just going to sit dead red on the fastball and drive it.

Our approach at the plate still wasn't very good. That's something we've really got to work on. It'll come around.

Offensively, we didn't attack. That's a far cry from the team we saw in the summer. That's probably the most frustrating and disappointing thing, we know we can play better and we're just not doing it.

Everything kind of clicked today, luckily. I can call all the plays I want to, but it takes them to execute.

Vince is a natural athlete. I think he opened up a lot of eyes last summer.

Tyler pitched a great game. And we definitely needed it.

We knew any run we could get in would be a plus because we weren't going to knock out any (in this game). The small ball worked.
andy bonus curve everybody fine good limit location mechanics pitch plenty quite
We kind of put everybody on a pitch limit today. I thought Andy did a fine job. He had good location and he had plenty of good pop. His curve wasn't quite there, but his mechanics were there. It's a bonus to get him back.
bright calm giant guys help number rest three thrown
That's a giant bright spot. Those three guys have thrown a number of varsity innings. It should help calm down the rest of the team, offensively and defensively.
