credit deep depth management problems ready says since time win
That's always been one of the problems with our team. We haven't had a lot of depth. This is the first time since I've been here that we've actually had depth on our team. It's a credit to our management and it also says that we're ready to win. We want to win now and we want to go deep in the playoffs.
credit played playing realized wrong
He never faulted us once for not playing hard, and that would have been wrong if he did. We always played hard. We were just terrible. That's a credit to him that he realized that and never faulted us.
arm beginning expected happen happened hoping knew played progress season stronger year
I kind of knew that it would take a while at the beginning of the season because I hadn't played for a whole year, ... I was hoping things would progress and my arm would get stronger as the year went on, and everything I've expected to happen has happened so far.
four guaranteed holes love main top wherever
I love the top of the order. You're pretty much guaranteed four at-bats. The more times you can come up, the better. At the same time, just being out there every day is the main thing. We have a lot of interchangeable parts. There's no holes in the lineup. Wherever they put me is fine.
believe builder common consensus dan district ground isolated means
I'm more of a consensus builder who can find common ground with other senators. I believe that Dan would be isolated and marginalized, which means that all the constituents of District 7 would be isolated and marginalized as well.
coming doubts knew
I never had any doubts about coming back. I knew I could come back and play,
guys lead means second
It's very nice, ... Joe's been unbelievable the whole second half. Getting these guys a lead means a lot.
control takes
Even as a young guy, he takes control. That's his infield out there, and that's the way it should be.
baseball prepare ready
This year, all I need to do is prepare for the season. I'm ready to play baseball.
dugout everybody gets gotten hits job saying
Everybody in the dugout was saying they shouldn't have done that. We've gotten a lot of big hits from him. When he gets up there we know he'll get the job done.
baseball fan follow frank good numbers presence
You look at Frank's numbers and he's amazing. He's already a presence around here. You couldn't be a baseball fan in the '90s and not follow Frank Thomas. He's as good as there was in the game.
award game pitch somebody stuff
Somebody told us before the game he has better stuff than (Cy Young award winner) Johan Santana, ... He doesn't know how to pitch like Johan Santana yet. But once he does, he will be real good.
coming guys last second somebody spring time ton training year
Any time somebody has a first year with a team, you have spring training but the second year coming back you're more comfortable with the guys. We didn't have a ton of turnover. We have some new guys but we pretty much have the same guys as last year.
Same old stuff. He makes you get yourself out.
