It's tough to take a guy out that's played as well as he has. I understand the situation. J.P.'s obviously the future here. I don't know at what point that is, but we don't feel like we're close to that point.

Absolutely he can get the job done. That's what people outside of this building don't understand. He's more than an average guy. I can't say how this season is going to go, but I've played with that guy when he's put up 400 yards and played extremely well. He just needs a chance.

Kelly's a guy who doesn't rush through life. He's a guy who really enjoys his family and it's the most important thing to him. But he also works extremely hard. Every morning he's already here and I come in at 6:45. It's just nice to see him get this chance.

He's comfortable - that's the main thing. J.P. will be there eventually, but right now Kelly is. He's a comfortable guy in there. He's a confident leader, a natural leader. . . . Every year in football is icing on the cake. I'm a guy who was not supposed to make it. It's my passion for the game that drives me. I wasn't drafted. I went to Cleveland as a free agent, and was eighth on the depth chart among the eight tight ends in camp.

I just wanted to go back and remind those guys that they should embrace the moment. I told them that they should enjoy each other's company because playing high school football is special. When I reflect back, it's still the most fun I have ever had playing under the lights at Foley with my buddies.

We've got six or seven girls on this team that can put up 15 or 20 points in a night. So I think that other teams might have a hard time reading us. We certainly have a bunch of girls that don't mind taking the big shots.
