happened hard page start team turn year
It was unfortunate what happened to me this year in Boston, ... I've just got to turn the page and start a new chapter. There's no hard feelings, but this is my team now.
ball capable great guy hit players stood
There are a lot of great players here, but he's the guy that always stood out. He was always the guy that wanted the ball hit to him or wanted that at-bat. He was the guy always capable of getting that hit.
along career forced great perform pressure putting similar tough year
I'd like to have had more of a chance. I've never in my career been that great a starter, I'd come along in the end. I was putting a lot of pressure on myself. I wanted to perform and I probably forced it. You always look back to the year before and you want to put up similar numbers. It got tough for me.
I'd like to have had more of a chance,
given outside stuff wish
I wish they had given me a little more cushion, ... But at the same time, I've got to go out there and produce. I let outside stuff kind of get in my mind.
both hate rivalry sides taught weird worked
It is kind of weird the way it's worked out. Getting to see the rivalry from both sides is a trip. At both places, you're taught to hate the other side so much.
enjoyed moving near pressure ready time tough
I enjoyed my time ... I enjoyed my time with a championship team. It got tough for me near the end -- not that I was ready to leave, but I could see that they were moving me in that direction. I put a lot of pressure on myself.
ball earned eventually exceeded hit might
He hit the ball unbelievably. I think they eventually wanted him to have the job. I think he exceeded the expectations they had of him this spring. You might as well give him a shot, and he earned it.
came confidence eighth games played seem stepped team winning
We don't seem to be able to manufacture anything right now. We don't have that swagger. Every winning team that I've played on, when games came down to the eighth they've stepped it up. Right now, when we're down in the eighth, I don't know if we have that confidence to come back.
hit pinch whatever
I'll do whatever they need me to do. I can play a lot of positions, I can pinch run, pinch hit - whatever they need from me.
believe chicago expect happened people stuff wrong
In Boston, most of the people believe in (the curse) just because of all of the stuff that has happened. It's kind of the same way in Chicago - they expect something to go wrong because that's what's happened over the years.
forward friends-or-friendship looking
I'm looking forward to it. I've still got a lot of friends on that team. But it's going to be a different feeling.
forward looking
Im looking forward to it, ... Ive still got a lot of friends on that team. But its going to be a different feeling.
potent
I never would have thought it. But this is a pretty potent lineup. You can't get down too much.
