couple stop stopped themselves
We couldn't stop them. We couldn't get them off the field. ... But they stopped themselves a couple of times.
couple dealt few guys later obviously talked team weeks within
Obviously we had a few young guys that were out later than we'd like for them to be a couple of weeks ago. We've dealt with them within our team, and we've talked to our team about it.
attitude bunch continue couple dangerous excitement felt great january months people physical proud respond sure taken talked tonight
I felt like we had a great spring. You are not sure how young people will respond after the excitement we had on January 4. People have talked to them about how great they are for a couple of months now and that is a dangerous thing for young student-athletes and I am really proud of the attitude this bunch has taken to continue to work. As you could see tonight they are very physical and it has been that way all spring.
couple finished game good guys history last lose lost playing reckon says teams time undefeated
We're the only two teams playing out of 119. It's the only two undefeated teams in the country. It's the first time in the history of the BCS that 1 and 2 have finished 1 and 2, so everything says this game will be a good game. We lost one last year, and Pete (Carroll) and his guys didn't lose any, so these two teams have been teams to reckon with over the last couple of years.
compared couple days decision defense hard henry key liked looked lower offense physical plays running runs today
Henry Melton made some really good, physical runs today and has a couple of other days as well. It will be a hard decision to see how much he plays defense compared to offense because we liked the way he looked (on offense). He's in better shape. He's running with lower pads. He made a couple of really key runs today.
ball drives maturity move offense pass run throwing
We just need to move the ball, not necessarily run the ball. We've had seven-minute drives with Vince throwing it, so we know because of his maturity in the offense that we can move the ball with the run or the pass now.
defense proud run stop
We weren't real proud of our run defense. We'll try to stop the run first (against Baylor). If you can't stop the run, you've got problems.
awful chance cost mistake national win
I've told them if you get in trouble, you probably won't play. What an awful thing for you to make a 15-second mistake that cost yourself a chance to play or win a national championship.
athletic performance seen
I've never seen an athletic performance from a quarterback like Vince Young did tonight.
bill emotional football hall kansas kids miss nobody school state
It was very emotional for me. Football will miss Bill Snyder. More than that, the kids of Kansas State will miss him. He'll be in the Hall of Fame. Nobody will ever do for a school in football, in my estimation, what he's done for Kansas State.
blocked dumb might people remember
It was very controversial when we did it. I remember people asking, 'Coach, how dumb are you? He might get hurt.' He blocked a punt on his first play.
planning
I've been planning this one for 33 years and now I really don't know what to say.
credit fight lose mad next ok saturday therefore understand until win worry
I used to really worry about it. I used to fight it, and it used to make me mad and now I understand sometimes when you win one, you get too much credit and therefore when you lose one, you get too much criticism. I understand we're probably OK until next Saturday ... and then it probably will be I just can't win any one of them again, but that's all right.
coach convince force meant selfish worst
The worst thing for a coach is to try to convince him to come back. After all he's meant to this university, how ungracious of us to be to force him to make a selfish decision.
