It's obviously not the start I wanted, but I knew there were a lot of birdie holes out there.

It wasn't the start I wanted but I stayed patient and kept telling myself you just need one break to get it going and that's what happened on the ninth.

Paul got off to a great start and putted absolutely beautifully. It was always going to be hard to get back in the match.

I made six pretty easy birdies in the pro-am so I had to stick in there after the start and hope there were some more birdies around the corner. Apart from missing a couple of short putts, it was a pretty good round.

I was pretty proud of the way I finished today and finished the job off. ... I held it together. Anytime you finish with a birdie like that and a great shot, it means a lot to a golfer.

Today was frustrating. I didn't really hit the ball too badly, I just struggled on the greens more than anything.

If we're playing into the wind, that's a very small green to be hitting a mid-iron into. In some cases, I can see playing for the front bunker and trying to get up and down (for par) if I have to hit a long iron there.
courses good great last phil playing scoring solid stays tournament weather week
With the conditions, all the courses are there to make some birdies. I think the scoring is going to be good this week if the weather stays like this. Sixty-two is a great start, but it's not like the tournament is over. I have to keep playing solid golf. Hopefully, I can do what Phil did last year.
boring call compliment golf greens
We call him 'plod'. It's fairways and greens with Luke, he kind of plods his way around the golf course. He's a very boring player, which is a compliment in golf.
