ball couple days far good guy hitting honest impressive past playing
I've been hitting (batting practice) with him the past couple of days and I'll be honest with you. I've been playing for a while and I've been in some good hitters' groups, but this guy is impressive for an 18-year-old. I couldn't hit a ball that far at 18 and I still can't right now at 38.
downs fortunate game guys opportunity players playoffs reached realize since team ups veteran
I think since we are a veteran team we realize that so many players play this game and go through so many ups and downs that a lot of the guys don't ever get the opportunity to play in the playoffs or a World Series. So I feel very fortunate to have reached this accomplishment.
bubble cards count gum guys hit none spring training
I told those guys that you really don't see those yet on bubble gum cards on the backs. They count during the season. They can hit 20 or 30 during Spring Training and none of them count.
best guys job league time
I always say I don't have the best skills, but I'm going to give it everything I've got. It's not always been pretty, but there's something to be said for guys that play in the league for a long time and know how to get the job done.
best guy likes pitchers
He's one of the best pitchers in the league. He's the guy no one likes to face.
applying law relentless situation totally violated
The situation is totally under control, ... We are going to be relentless in applying the law to all those who have violated the law and the constitution.
game worst
The worst thing is, ... is we're not getting All-Star Game questions.
stepped
They all pitched well. They all stepped up.
ended fear violence
The violence has ended and so has the fear and persecution.
ball baseball bottom direction excited florida league line major manager south stay tells though
Even though everything tells you they are not going to do well because of the team, we're very excited about the direction they're going in, with the manager and the ball team. We had some hesitation, but when we did our research, we feel the Marlins are here to stay in South Florida ... The bottom line is they're still a Major League Baseball team. There's only 30 of them.
behind definitely good hard hopefully initiative jumping playing run san seem team winning
It definitely doesn't seem like there's one team really jumping out there to take the initiative to run away with this thing, which is good for us because we're behind San Diego. So we're just going to go out there and keep playing hard and hopefully we can get on one of those winning streaks that we haven't had all year.
logic trying
I'm still trying to find some logic to it all.
art awe club counts double everybody exclusive former home league list major names nowadays respect
I'm still in awe about it. I look at the list and see the names on it. I have all the respect in the world for all the former major league players. Nowadays I think the art of the double is kind of gone, because everybody counts on the home run. But for me it's an exclusive club I can be a part of.
people sure thinking
I'm sure a lot of people were thinking that I couldn't play every day in one position. But here I have the chance, and I feel comfortable.
