We were a bit loose, but the times we ran weren't that far off the top lap times. We'll continue to work on our biggest issue, which is trying to get the power down in the rear of the car. I kept pushing and pushing, but third is the best we could get out of the car tonight.

It feels like Scott and I are now even after this one. He helped me win in Mexico City and now I've helped him win in front of his family in California. It's still a long way to go in the championship, so we need to keep our heads down and get the job done.

We kept the same group of guys together and I think that consistency in this team in helping us because we finished very strong last year. At the beginning, we weren't very strong because I was driving with Scott for the first time and the same for some of the members of the team.

We actually had a bit of traffic and I had to make a couple of passes just after the start-finish line heading into Turn 1. The car performed very well even though I was experiencing a loose-to-neutral feeling in it. That lent itself to a fast qualifying setup, but we have some changes that we know will tighten it back up for the race tomorrow.

I think we feel very solid right now. We still have a long way to go. There are some great drivers and some great teams, so we need to keep our head down and stay focused and keep building things right.
