apart bit break early extremely good holding life point rhythm second serve serving tougher
The way he was serving at that time, he was serving extremely well, ... Apart from an early break point in the second set, he was holding serve pretty comfortably there. He had good rhythm on his serve, and, you know, it would have made life a bit tougher (had Rusedski not made the errors).
continue early favor felt hard head matter momentum points pressure second swung third trying work
I felt it was a matter of trying to regroup, put my head down, work hard and not to give too many points away in the second set. I wanted to put more pressure on him early in the second set, and I was able to do that. The momentum really swung in my favor and I was able to continue to do that in the third set as well.
coming feeling hung incredible second sets
It's an incredible feeling coming from two sets down. ... He was pretty much unstoppable in the second set but I just hung in there.
easily good great lost matches round second tough
It's been pretty good this week, ... I could easily have lost in the second round to Greg (Rusedski). To come through that and have some tough matches is very good. It's great preparation for the US Open.
came dictate early extremely paul played second step tried
Paul came out and played extremely consistent. Early in the second set I tried to step it up a little more and dictate play.
badly picked played second
I didn't feel I played badly at all in the second set. Jonas just picked up his game.
bad double errors faults foot game meant momentum played playing pressure second service slack third time top wrong
In the second set I couldn't put a foot wrong and started to get on top of him, but I just played a slack first game of the third set. I had the momentum big time at that stage, all I had to do was put some pressure on his service game, but some bad double faults and errors meant I was playing catch-up in the third set.
balls bit came chop hard heavy open played quite reason rough simple till
I've never played with balls that are getting that big. It's as simple as that. I thought the balls in Rotterdam were quite heavy till I came here. You know, the court's definitely, you know, it's a little bit rough out there. That's always going to chop the balls up a little bit more than a smoother court, such as a US Open hard court. But, you know, there's no reason why the ball should get, you know, that heavy.
competitor conditions earn happy played tennis tough wind
It was tough conditions out there today, ... The wind was swirling and Taylor's never going to give you the match. He's a tough competitor and I really had to earn it. We played some tough tennis and I'm just happy to get through.
lining ready return serve sure walked
It was weird. He was lining up ready to serve and I was ready to return then he walked off to the chair. I wasn't sure what was going on.
ball earn extremely felt hit needed tough
It was an extremely tough match, ... Taylor's never going to give you the match. I really had to earn it. I felt like I hit the ball well when I needed to.
areas clicking earn extremely felt game quite tough
It was an extremely tough match, ... I really had to earn it. I felt like there were a lot of areas of my game that weren't quite clicking today.
earn extremely tough
It was an extremely tough match, ... I really had to earn it .
bit circuit cup finals indoor masters matches maybe physically played quite run
Especially big ties. When we've played the finals before, quite often I'd played the Masters Cup and the whole indoor circuit and a lot of matches and maybe I was physically run down a little bit going in,
