Like all good high school coaches, you walk around and you pilfer athletes from other programs. I was coaching field hockey and watching her play soccer and thinking, 'This kid would be really, really good at lacrosse.' So basically I chased her around with a stick for a couple of months and talked her into playing lacrosse.

They bounce back pretty quickly. They're a pretty tough group. I do think it's a function of being young. You've got to even out. If the lows of losing get higher than the highs of winning then you know you're in trouble. You just move on and play the next game.

We knew we were losing Virginia Tech, but then all of a sudden we lost to BC. I know (Loyola) had a rough year last year and they're off to a bumpy start, but traditionally they're a strong program.
