against almost asked case chose few games happened hold instead last league level near occasions past players playing point practicing seen several staying
I've asked him on several occasions to go and play, more for just staying ready. Instead of practicing here, go play. But that's happened in the past where players have chose not to go. I don't hold that against them. They almost feel that practicing at this level is better than playing at the American League level. I've seen a few American League games and it isn't near what it was last year. So there may be a case in point for that.
bit losing playing playoffs sloppy
We want to go into the playoffs on a little bit of a run. We don't want to be going in playing sloppy hockey, getting careless, and losing games.
bit change guys instant lines playing seemed spark stale
It seemed like the lines had a little bit of instant chemistry. Sometimes you go a little bit stale with the guys you're playing with, and just a change sometimes, that'll spark players.
deserve determined difference encourage guys hard playing push room somebody
You really do get that feeling. Those guys in that room deserve a lot of credit. They push each other. They encourage each other. They're hard on each other at times. But they like playing with each other. Those guys are determined to have somebody make a difference every night.
coming create guys playing sitting staring
You don't want to create undue pressure, but the pressure's coming from the guys that are playing around him, ... I don't think if you were sitting there staring at the stats you would feel comfortable.
playing
Playing our own end, we've been flat-out sloppy.
allow everybody goal heck hockey key playing problems saves starts tough win
Part of it is, you look at who's playing goal now. I think their problems have stemmed . . . Theodore's had a tough time. Everybody realizes he is a heck of a goalie, but he has struggled. It starts there. If you're not getting key saves or if you're not just getting the saves that allow you to win hockey games, it makes it tough on the team.
decided hard mentality needed playing tested work year
He had a whole year that tested his mentality playing the game. He decided he needed to work out hard and become stronger.
again chances concern continue creating games last number playing shots three
The last three games we got three points. Our concern is we want to continue playing well. The number of chances we're creating again and shots we're getting is the game we want to play.
win
We just play to win games. If that's Marty, then it'll be Marty. If it's Ryan, then it'll be Ryan.
missed
We missed too many opportunities. We didn't convert.
continue energy grind level team
We have to continue to grind away. The energy level of our team isn't great. We're mucking through it.
against chances dominated few gave maybe third won
We got scored against on the few chances we gave up. We only got scored against because maybe we were too aggressive. That same aggressiveness won us the game. We dominated the third period, gave up one shot, and we didn't look back.
expected expects good nobody
We expected to be a good team, but nobody expects something like this.
