I've told you guys I'm not going to force anything. Flip had a wide-open three. He hit the big shot for us.
It was tough to watch. Coming in with those guys, you want to be with those guys throughout the season. But I won't be watching this time. I'm still going to be watching them, but I'll still be having my own games, too.
Those guys don't realize, I'm a football player first. I'm going to lay down for a little bit, regroup and get back up. I'm used to taking those hits. They're nothing compared to football hits.
We needed some time off. We'd been on the road for a week. It was a good practice, guys had their legs coming off the day off and we came in with the focus to get ready and get some wins.
There are a couple guys who can't grow too much hair on their face. We're together. We've become a family. That's the most important part of a team.
Tonight was a big effort. We executed all through the game even when the reserves came in the last eight minutes. Those guys executed.
This was big for us. The guys stepped up. We couldn't go 0-3 against them. They might be a team we face in the playoffs. So we can't let them think they can come in here and beat us.
We've been doing a great job of closing out games on the road lately. It's tough playing the same team twice (in a one-week span). We didn't want to put too much pressure on ourselves because of the guys they are missing. We tried come out and play like they had everyone.
That's something we didn't have last year: a guy that can spread the floor and open the lane for me and Z. You see how open the lane is for me and Z now.
It was a big win for us. Mentally, I wanted to get the guys focused and let them know that this was a big win for us getting ready for the playoffs.
It was one of those nights where you come out and you just don't bring it. This is what happens. These guys (with the Magic) are in the NBA just like we are, and this is what happens when you don't bring it.
It's a disadvantage; I have to really just try to maintain focus. It is going to be very competitive. We all can do more than just shoot the ball. It is guys that can do everything.
I've always been an unselfish guy, and that's the only way I know how to play on the court and I try to play to the maximum of my ability - not only for myself but for my teammates.
They're like those things guys used in high school. I hope it's the last we see of them.
