Larry Robinson
Larry Clark Robinsonis a former ice hockey player and coach in the National Hockey League. Robinson was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1995 and is currently the associate coach for the San Jose Sharks. He has also served as head coach for the New Jersey Devils on two separate occasions, as well as for the Los Angeles Kings. Larry Robinson was inducted into the Ontario Sports Hall of Fame in 2014...

It's the strangest team I've ever been around. They're a different group. A leader would probably help. Most great teams have somebody that will step forward. We have a bunch of guys and not one particular guy to come forward and step in front if things get out of hand.

It's one of those plays. Talented players are going to try to make moves like that where they try to put it between a guy's feet. When things are going well and everything's going your way, those get through and you don't even think about it at the end of the game. The guy (Horton) didn't take very long to get that (shot) off, either.

Not the same way as a Scotty did, but we certainly have guys who can play physical. I don't know how much now you're going to be able to do that kind of stuff.

It's funny. I think the game has changed in that in the old days guys used to hang around a lot more together because everybody pretty well had similar interests. Today there's different cultures and different personalities. Now, not everybody does the same thing. When you do get occasions such as this, it's always nice to get out with your teammates. You find out a lot about each other when you're just sitting around, whether it's lunch or having a soda or whatever.

Talking to Scotty (Stevens), he has kids and he enjoyed taking his son Ryan to football practice. I could hear it in his voice. I know that Ron Francis has a huge estate in Carolina and he loves it. Those guys never had a chance to take a year off before and they got used to it.

The reality is that we have eight new guys in our lineup. We have to get them on the same page as everyone else.

There seemed to be a little bit more life, a little more enthusiasm. Guys were probably a lot more focused when we got on the ice.

I thought defensively we were in much better position. We're a little fragile in our own zone sometimes and guys will get running around a little bit. I thought our positioning was much better.

I've worked with Barney through the years, first as police chief and now as city manager. He's not only a skilled coach, but he cares about youth and putting them on the right path.

The same people are taking the penalties all the time. They just have to learn they can't do those things.

You always have a comfortable feeling when you have Marty in the net,
