It's a World Series atmosphere, and it's like this every day. In spring training, we were playing against teams people really don't follow and every place announced a new attendance record.

A lot of guys say, 'I'm not going to bring that many guys in that have managed,' but Joe tries to surround himself with good people. I think the people we've got are quality people, and Joe lets us do our thing. Being around Joe since spring training, you can see why he's such a great manager. He relies on his staff. And yet, when there's a tough decision to be made, he makes it.

I was told before I came here that they depleted the farm system. But I see a lot of players I like, especially those two kids. They both have great hands and they move their feet well. They look comfortable at this level.

You'll be on the hot seat. You don't like it, don't take the job. Everybody's got a boss -- I don't mean that 'The Boss.' Everybody's got a higher-up that you have to account for, and that's the way it is.
