basketball begin both came degree earning goals main next opportunity stage
When I came to Texas, my main two goals were to get started on earning my degree and to have the opportunity to play in the NBA. I've accomplished both of those and the opportunity is there for me right now to begin the next stage of my basketball career.
basketball leave middle
It was just leave the middle to me and get to all their shooters.
basketball workout safe-haven
I've always been a workout type guy. So if I'm feeling down or I'm not happy with something, I go to the gym and I get a shot of energy. If things don't go well in any aspect of my life, I'm going to the gym and I'm going to shoot. That's my one type of place that's a safe haven where I go and it's just me, the basketball and the hoop, and I'm just doing something I love to do.
felt games hard seeing struggle team watching
It was very hard just watching the games and seeing the team struggle at times. I felt like I could have done anything just to help, but I couldn't even walk.
couple exciting watching
It was an exciting thing. I was with a couple of the guys, watching it at a teammate's house.
coach free practice shot throws watching
I shot a lot of free throws in practice with Coach watching me.
allowed beginning couple defense difference good great job kept last pounding
Our defense has done a great job the last couple of games. I think that has been a big difference from our play in the beginning of the season. That allowed us to go in and get some good buckets tonight, so we just kept pounding them in.
babies baby block missed pushed rebound supposed tried
Big Baby pushed me out of the lane. I didn't do what I was supposed to do. I missed shots. I tried to do other things, like rebound and block shots.
coming good job laid movement played screening
Coming into the game, we had everything laid out on offense. If they played zone, we had to get a lot of movement and screening to get our shots. We did a good job of that.
feels
It feels good, but we have a long season, a long way to go.
shots
Those are shots I can make. They just didn't fall.
ball pass
We need to keep moving, set better screens, pass the ball more.
chair percentage reason release using
When I first got here (to UT), my release was ugly. I think using the chair is one reason my free-throw percentage is getting better. I have better mechanics.
chance country couple finish gets locked next ourselves prove ready rolling seeds strong top track trying win
I don't think we were trying to prove anything to the country. We were just trying to get ourselves back on track so that when this thing gets rolling to NCAA, we'll be locked and ready to go. If we finish out strong and win our next couple of games, anything can happen. Any of the other No. 1 seeds could lose. We still have a chance (to be a top seed).
