I'm a competitive person. I think you all know that. Myself, I feel like I can do more. But at the same time we do have other players on the team who can make plays. Just being me, yeah, I want to be utilized a little bit more than what I am.
It's just like when you're gaining a lot of yards - it just happens. A guy like Chuck Muncie, everybody knows what kind of player he was. It's great to be in the same category.
It was devastating, to be honest with you. I was a young player and didn't understand a lot about the business. I knew that he was a heck of a player and had many more years left. Of course as a young player you wonder why. Talking to him, he knew the business of it. He made me understand that it's a business first. After a while, I kind of got it.
I believe a lot of players that start to think about money - 'Oh my goodness; I'm up for a new contract' - they don't have a great season because they're thinking about all these different things. Do your business on the field, and everything takes care of itself.
A lot of people may know my face and know that I'm a good player on the football field, but they probably don't really know me as a person.
Rex brings out the macho talk and tells everyone this is what we're going to be and what we're going to do. And you see what happened. The players did it. It worked.
I am just a player trying to do what Im told.
I knew that they were going to be up for us trying to run the ball. At that point they were pinning their ears back. That's why you saw the big play happen, too. When they got all them guys up, somebody didn't get over in that gap where they were supposed to get, and Michael got right down the sideline.
It's still fairly early, ... but at the same time, we can't afford to drop any more.
It's not fair to sit here and say how Philip is going to do. We haven't even stepped on the field together.
They just played good defense. I don't know specifically what they did; I have to wait to see the film.
I'm pretty sure people are getting tired of hearing (everyone) say, 'LT hasn't caught any passes' or whatever, ... It's definitely in the game plan, and that's going to be something we try to do this week -- make sure I touch the ball in open space.
I'm only in my fifth year, and we still have five games to go down the stretch, and the offensive line is just now getting healthy, ... So I'm looking forward to what we have here in the future.
It was nice. So many times we've been on the losing end of games like this. I figured one game would have to go our way.
