To be happy, one only must be able to confront, which is to say, experience, those things that are. Unhappiness is only this the inability to confront that which is.
Two Rules for Happy Living: 1. Be able to experience anything. 2. Cause only those things which others are able to experience easily.
A human being feels able and competent only so long as he is permitted to contribute as much as or more than he has contributed to him.
A person is either the effect of his environment or is able to have an effect upon his environment.
One cannot be able in life by fearing to live.
A philosophy can only be a route to knowledge. It cannot be knowledge crammed down one's throat. If one has a route, he can then find what is true for him. And that is Scientology.
You would be amazed how much action anyone is capable of.
Let me clarify this very definitely. This is not an authoritarian organization.
Oh yes, as a matter of fact it is quite interesting that exercises can be conducted which demonstrate conclusively that there are memories which exist prior to this life.
This [Scientology] is useful knowledge. With it the blind again see, the lame walk, the ill recover, the insane become sane and the sane become saner. By its use the thousand abilities Man has sought to recover become his once more.
All real difficulty stems from no responsibility. Full responsibility is not fault; it is recognition of being cause.
If a man can dream, if a man can have goals, he can be happy and he can be alive. If he has no goals he doesn't even have a future.
So we listen. We add up associations of people with people. When a push against Scientology starts somewhere, we go over the people involved and weed them out. Push vanishes.
People attack Scientology, I never forget it, always even the score. People attack auditors, or staff, or organisations, or me. I never forget until the slate is clear.
