cool game good guys learned name pull style
We learned the game the same way and in the same style. He's made a good name for himself. It's cool to see guys come from the same place you did and see them succeed. You pull for them.
battle hopefully pennant race tomorrow ups
When you're in the pennant race, there's going to be some ups and downs. Just as long as there's more ups than downs. We're going to come out and battle tomorrow and hopefully take the series.
best emotions handle high holds pain
She's not one to ever show too much emotion. She has a high pain tolerance, holds everything inside, and that kind of personality is the best way to handle this.
couple four guys obviously three trying
Obviously we have a couple of guys who aren't here yet so someone has to take their innings. I'm just trying to get the feel of going three or four innings.
ball base hard hit inside pitch plate tendency throwing work
We were throwing a lot of curveballs and cutters. When you have a left-handed-dominated lineup and I throw backdoor cutters, that's a pitch that for the most part, if they don't hit it for a base hit, it's probably going to be a flyball out. ... I work so hard on the inside part of the plate with my cutter that when I do throw it on the backside, they have a tendency to hit that ball in the air, and not with authority.
bay change ease job offense philosophy puts runs support work
When you get a lot of runs to work with, it makes your job easier, but you also don't want to go back out there and let them right back in the game, so you can't really change your philosophy on how you're going to pitch. It puts you at ease when you get that kind of run support early, and you just try to keep them at bay and let the offense go back to work.
afraid aggressive defense guys key offense pound strike throw tonight zone
The defense was the key tonight and our offense was our offense of old. Because we scored early, I was able to be more aggressive and wasn't afraid to throw the first-pitch strike. I was able to pound the strike zone and get our guys back to the bench.
panic scoring spells
It's a long season, you're going to go through spells like this where you're not scoring runs, but we didn't panic early, we're not going to panic now.
best
It's going to be fun. We're going to give it our all, give it our best shot.
ball recipe throw
That's when we play good. We don't make errors, we put the ball in play, and we throw strikes. That's our recipe for winning.
angels deal late means season time
You can't make too big of a deal out of it. But any time you play the Angels this late in the season and it means something, it's fun.
giving help mother others sunday tool wants worried
My mother is the most giving person I have ever met. She's always worried about others more than she is herself. She can use this Sunday as a tool to help others. She wants to better others.
ball establish job keeping late outing year
I didn't do my job tonight, keeping us in the ball game. It's disappointing this late in the year having an outing like this. My cutter wasn't sharp. I didn't establish my fastball.
ball hit job kept late
I didn't do my job and that's disappointing, especially this late in the season, ... I kept the ball down for the most part, but when I was up, they hit the ball pretty good.
