I am very disappointed to have to withdraw from Indian Wells. I re-aggravated the right ankle that I injured in Australia, and now require some time off to get back to 100 percent. Indian Wells has always been one of my favorite tournaments, and I am very much looking forward to playing there next year.

I'm just glad I'm healthy and moving well, ... Looking back, the injury was the best thing that could have happened to me. I had time to learn about myself. Now I have friends and a life off the road. This victory means more to me than the other wins here because of the injuries I've had in the past.

I've realized a lot more how much I missed tennis, ... That's the whole completely different attitude that I have now. No matter what I do, I'm going for it because it could be over.
