Tonight, you had a more energetic team. A team that was feistier.
We've got a lot of new faces, a lot of variables, ... Can we win? Can we not win? What kind of team it's going to be. Our identity. How different things take shape. We'll find out pretty soon.
We're two totally different people from two totally different parts of the earth. I think people are wanting it to be more than what it really was. It wasn't like we hated each other. We spoke every day, said what's up, had conversations, cracked jokes, just like any other teammate in here. Basketball-wise, came in, did what we had to do to get a win. Sometimes we didn't get it. We're both competitive.
I've yet to see a team that doesn't go through a stretch of difficulty. This is ours. We just got to battle through.
It was a game that we had to have. As far as momentum and trying to create some with our schedule, this came at the right time...Playing a team that is an aggressive team, I thought we did a good job of meeting that aggression.
It's a combination of a lot of things. Knowing how to execute, knowing when to execute, their second team against our second team. We've got to try to figure something out, I know that.
We're a big question mark. We have no real identity at this point. We show glimpses of being very, very good defensively. ... But I don't think you can stamp us as a defensive team or stamp us as a team with an identity right now.
We were a lot more conscious of him. I think, to begin with, we were probably focused on (point guard) Baron Davis more than anybody, because he makes that team go.
This is the ultimate test. This is the best team in the league by far. This team has not just blown us out, but blown out San Antonio twice, one of the better teams in the league. This isn't charity.
When they started playing zone, it slowed us down, made us stagnant. It was effective and teams have been playing us pretty much straight up (man-to-man). I'm sure some other teams are going to watch this game, and they're going to do some of the same things. I know what we're going to work on tomorrow.
I don't want to go through this any more. I think I'm more deserving of a better team and I think the city's more deserving of a better team, coming in here having something that's going to be competitive and having us getting back to the Western Conference finals. But I do know you just can't blink and it's going to happen; you have to actually spend the time and effort. So, we'll see.
I want to be known as the best teammate ever.
I'm sure every team in the league goes through what we're going through. It's no different for us. The morale is not down, but we're trying to figure it out. ... I hate losing. I haven't really slept very well. It's good I got decent skin or you'd see all these bags under by eyes. It's not a good feeling right now. I'm eager to get a winning streak going.
I should have had a little more control than that.
