We play math games, I help them with their assignments, and we just do math for about an hour. They're high-energy. They pick things up pretty quickly once you explain it to them.

On Feb. 23, we're going to start moving ahead on plans for a new field house. We're growing so rapidly that we have to turn our weight room into new classrooms. And as far as football goes, right now we can only seat about 1,000 people. We had 5-6,000 at our playoff games over at West Port High, so obviously the demand is there and we want to accommodate everyone.

When we started helping those people out, it made our hearts bigger.

It's no secret that it takes a lot of money to provide a good education. We're raising money for computers, buses, vans, a bit of everything. Tuition is $6,000, but it costs about $8,000 to educate each student. That's where the fundraising comes in.

Everyone came out and supported us 100 percent throughout the whole conference and the NCAA conference. The more support we have, the better we play.
hard hearts helped practice time tougher
It made it hard to practice sometimes. We helped out and did everything we could. It made us a tougher team. Going through that time made all of our hearts bigger.

It's going to be a special night. We're hoping to pack the gym.
coach college deserves instilled mike
Coach Mike deserves it. He's the hardest-working coach in college basketball, probably the world. He instilled in us that you should always do things the right way. He made us better people.

He's been a hot coach lately, so his name has been out there on the coaching scene for the vacancies. But I was a little surprised.
