The game played out exactly as we expected. We expected both teams to battle back and forth and they did that.

We played excellent defense the first half. The problem was that we couldn't put the ball in the bucket. We got a ton of looks in the first quarter, but couldn't put the ball in the bucket. We got looks again in the second quarter. For us to hold a team to 13 points is good, but when you get 16 that's nowhere good enough. We just couldn't put the ball in the bucket.

They came out with more pressure, and we struggled. They needed to do something because we were controlling the tempo.

We had an opportunity to go up 10 and turned the ball over. Our biggest problem was in the second half when we didn't make defensive stops when we had to. We did it the first quarter and second quarter, but we did not make defensive stops in the second half.

Our kids battled all year long. Being down, being injured, they pushed through and won a district title. And they came out here and gave a great effort.

Our key players played decent, and their key players played decent. But the difference was that they had other players step up, and we didn't expect that.

We looked at everything we were doing and decided to start doing some things differently. We worked harder on defense, came in at 6:30 a.m. to shoot free throws and fixed the things that we weren't doing well. The kids said they'd do whatever it took to get better.
