winning atlanta years
I'm excited to win a pole at Atlanta, one of the tracks you look forward to qualifying at every single year, and really happy to beat Ryan Newman, who is hard to beat here.
real years lasts
I never even thought the sophomore slump existed. You hear the saying, but you never thought it was for real or anything. But that's kind of what happened to us last year, and I don't know really why that is.
running years top-10
We're working on being consistently in the top 10, top 12 and getting ready for next year's Chase. We need the make the Chase and one way we need to do it is to be consistent and starting running in the top 12.
cars difference early great hit preparing race setup team track
The big difference is we've hit on a setup early in the season. The team is preparing great race cars. I'm comfortable in there. I've never had cars that I got to the track with and been comfortable with.
capitalize change definitely high momentum
Things can change quick, but we're definitely on a high right now. We have momentum and things are going our way. We've got to capitalize while we do have this and, hopefully, keep it going all season.
change definitely high
Things can change quick, but we're definitely on a high right now.
car driving easy fell spin tires took
It took us a little time; we fell back early. We were working on getting the car driving a little better, but the tires fell off real quick. It was very easy to spin your tires.
giving last mark
As Mark was reeling me in, I was doing all I could to go fast. I was giving about all I had those last 30 laps.
kenny looking setting together
I got together with Kenny and started working with the new team, setting goals, and looking at what I did wrong.
atlanta favorite race
Atlanta is one of my favorite race tracks, and it always has been.
people reason ruin run
Dale Jarrett, when he got back at Newman, that's just the way you've got to do it. If people are going to run you over for no reason and think they're going to get away with it, you just go out there and ruin their day, too.
car definitely felt figured helped last year
There were times when I felt like we should try this or try that. It may have helped at times last year when we didn't have the Charger figured out. But right now the Charger is the car we definitely want to have.
both great nascar second southern thanks time
This is the second time I've come here. I've had a great time both times. It's great that they've got NASCAR in Southern California. Thanks for all the support.
crashes forced pathetic
It was really a pathetic year. Some of the things I did some of the crashes I was in I didn't need to be in. I forced the issue.
