You spend so much time developing a character when you do a film; so much of your work is done before you get set to shoot because you've been working on the character: the way he walks, the way he talks, what might upset him, what might make him happy.
When I was a kid, I played basketball religiously. I begged my mom to get me voice lessons because I wanted to learn to sing the right way, but at the same time, I was playing Junior Olympic basketball, and I was playing point guard for my school. But I was wanting to get into entertainment, into music and film and television.
The only thing that I travel with is an Ole Henriksen facial cleanser, something that my skin is used to avoid using different soaps at different hotels all the time, and Givenchy Man Pro-Energizing Massive Moisturizer. I usually keep my hair pretty short, too, so I don't require a lot of stuff.
I was raised in a very humble environment, and I was always taught to be humble to the things that are happening in my life because they're blessings. They're blessings in every way. Whether you're able to help someone get through a tough time in their life through your music or through comedy, or whatever it is, you're just a channel.
I think when I was about 12 or 13, my dad started taking me out to the local golf course, and that's the first time I ever hit a golf ball. I picked it up pretty quickly, just kind of monkey-see, monkey-do. But when I was 12, golf was so slow to me. For me, it was basketball, girls and music.
Golf is me and buddies out having a good time, but most of all, golf is about me and my dad. Anytime I think of golf, I think about my dad. He taught me how to hit a golf ball, and he got me playing.
He did it in a smart way. He took some time off from the music and took roles where he could show some real chops. I guess I'm close to doing the same thing.
As time goes by people will see who I am for who I am.
I've played in sold out stadiums before half a million people, but this makes me nervous.

We're dirty pop. It's a trend now, but we were the first ones to do it!
Justin has signed up for the play for various reasons. He's good mates with Kevin and has been looking for a chance to have a go at a meaty theatre role. It fits in with his bigger plans.
When I release my new album this year...Urge and I will be doing some new and creative things. Urge offers a new way for artists like myself to specifically reach music fans with a ton of options.
