ahead hurt job pitch
One pitch hurt me. I've got to do a better job of getting ahead of batters.
fighting happy hard knew saw worked
We all saw each other throwing, and it made us better. We knew what we were fighting for. But I worked hard for this, and I'm happy to get it.
definitely expect harsh low publicly whatever
It was definitely a low point. Definitely. I didn't expect them to be as harsh as they were publicly about whatever was going on. But everything is better now.
clear guys job regardless strikes throw
It's clear to me that I have to go in there and get guys out. Regardless of what inning or what role, my job is to throw strikes and get guys out.
ask cardinals door
It didn't go down well, but when one door closes, another door opens. The Cardinals have been great. I couldn't ask for anything better.
across bow definitely example players shape shot
There's a lot of bitterness; it still kind of stings. But I definitely think I was made an example of, like a shot across the bow to the other players to let them know they have to come in and be in shape and be ready. ... It was unexpected, to say the least.
ball behind fastball gave hit location looking pitch swing thinking trying
I'll be thinking about it, but I want the ball again. I just got behind him and he was looking fastball. I gave him a fastball to hit. the location was off, I didn't get ahead. I just didn't pitch today. I was trying to get it low, try to put him on the ground. if he was going to get a swing on it, I wanted him to swing and hit it down.
ball thinking
I'll be thinking about it, but I want the ball again.
fit lose six
I could always lose five, six pounds. I'm fit enough to pitch. Fit enough to do my job.
throw
I'm not going to come in here and back down. I'm going to come in here and throw my game.
