These were much needed wins for the boys. You never want to start 0-6, but with the quality of teams I scheduled for them, it's always a possibility. Those tough games will make us improve faster and be a much better team late in the season. But right now I'm stressing to just focus on one game, one pitch at a time.

I've told these young men all along our pitching staff isn't going to be the type to just overpower a team and they have to be ready to make that big play at any time for this team to be successful. Our pitchers know if they hit their spots and have control, our defense is able to make plays and that's what happened last night.

In the past, the kids haven't been strong enough to recover from mistakes. Monday, we had several errors against Washington County that allowed four unearned runs in the first two innings, but we came back and put the bat on the ball and minimized mistakes at the end.
