You look at a lot of the other studs in the league this is the time when your best players need to step up and Marty, certainly the past couple of nights, he has been our best player offensively. I don't want to single anybody out because I think we have played well as a team, but you have to give him a little bit of credit. His game is different than it was in the middle of the year.

From all the reports I get from the players that have come up here, from the reports from the coaches and everybody said that he has handled himself very well in a situation where there could be a little whining. I wouldn't agree with the whining, but it happens and he hasn't done it.

It's not a fighter. It's not a tough guy. It's not an idiot. It's a guy who is willing to bring a presence and in certain situations step up and stick up for his teammates and create room. But he also has to be a good player to play within a lineup.

Your best players need to be your best players and almost dominate games. Or your goaltending dominates a game. You just need some dominating performances, and if you're going to have dominating performances, it's going to come from your best guys. And if you sprinkle two or three of those in six games, and you find a way to win four or five games, that's when you start getting that swagger back.

I respect what players have to do in this league, especially those type of role players who do a lot of things other people aren't willing to do. But there still has to be some honor in it.
